The Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) wants to remind businesses and residents in Warrick County and contiguous counties that they may qualify for low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), following damage incurred from the storms occurring on July 30th, 2024.

To assist Warrick residents in filing claims and answering questions regarding potential assistance to recover from damages, the SBA and the IDHS will open a Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) in Warrick County. The center is for those impacted by the July 30th storms only.

The Disaster Loan Outreach Center will be running from August 26th through September 11th, at the Ohio Township Trustee, located at 3433 Libbert Road located in Newburgh. Its hours will be on August 26th, 11 AM to 6 PM CT, and for the rest of its operating days, August 27th through September 11th, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM CT. The DLOC will be closed every Sunday and on September 2nd in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.

SBA Customer Service representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the loan program and help with applications. Additionally, staff from IDHS will help answer questions about the Indiana State Disaster Relief Fund, which can be used to cover losses not eligible for SBA loans.

Low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration are available in addition to Warrick County for residents of Dubois, Gibson, Pike, Spencer, and Vanderburgh; and the Kentucky counties of Daviess and Henderson.

Residents and businesses in the impacted counties will have until October 21st, 2024, to return applications for physical property damage. Those seeking Economic Injury Loans will have until May 20th, 2025, to apply. Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and most private nonprofit organizations located in the designated counties that have suffered substantial economic injury from the storm may be eligible for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL).
