Actors Community Theatre (ACT) is excited to announce auditions for their upcoming fall production, Twisted Tales of Poe. The auditions will be held on September 16th and 17th, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM EST at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center Black Box Theatre. Participants are requested to enter through Door #11 during the audition hours.
Twisted Tales of Poe is a captivating radio play adapted by Philip Grecian, bringing to life the chilling stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe. This unique production relies solely on dialogue, music, and sound effects to create vivid imagery in the listener’s imagination.
The theatre is seeking 7 to 9 male actors and 4 to 5 female actors, with opportunities for cast members to take on multiple roles. The minimum age for auditioning is 14, and no prepared monologues are necessary as scripts will be available for read-throughs during the auditions.
Performances of Twisted Tales of Poe are scheduled for Friday, October 10th, and Saturday, October 11th, 2024, at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center Black Box Theatre. Additional details regarding casting and ticket sales will be released closer to the performance dates.
For over 75 years, ACT has been a cornerstone of the local arts scene, offering high-quality productions and fostering talent in the community. Their upcoming 2024-2025 season also includes the comedy Rumors in April 2025 and the beloved musical Mary Poppins in July 2025, both to be staged at the Jasper Arts Center.
