The Jasper Deutscher Verein has been named the 2024 Co-Hoosier German-American of the Year for its dedication to promoting and preserving Hoosier German-American heritage. Established in 1980, the Verein is recognized for its leadership in the Jasper-Pfaffenweiler Sister Cities program, mentoring local German high school programs, and supporting the German student exchange initiative. The award also celebrates the club’s contributions to the highly successful annual Jasper Strassenfest as it prepares to mark its 45th anniversary.
