Holy Family Parish is once again supporting the Piarist Mission Outreach in Appalachia, continuing the impactful work of Father Thomas Richard Carroll Jr., the visionary founder and principal of the Piarist Mission in Appalachia. From October 5th to 14th, 2024, the parish will hold a 10-day collection to support the Piarist Mission Outreach, which serves communities in the impoverished areas of Johnson County, Eastern Kentucky.

The Piarist Outreach Program collaborates with other volunteer ministries to assist over 1,000 infants, children, and teens. To support this effort, Holy Family Parish will be collecting new socks, underwear (infant to teen sizes), diapers, shampoo, conditioner, liquid body soap, toothpaste (especially small sizes), and toothbrushes. Donations should be placed in the collection box in the church Narthex, and all items should be unwrapped.

This collection honors the enduring legacy of Father Tom, who spent years tirelessly working to improve the lives of countless individuals. Following his passing, the mission has continued its work under the leadership of Father John Callan.
