The public is invited to attend a public information meeting to review maps and discuss plans for Section 2 of the Mid-States Corridor, the area currently being studied in Dubois County. The project team will provide updates and share a timeline for the Section 2 study.

The public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 26, a Jasper Middle School (3600 N. Portersville Rd., Jasper, IN 47546). Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation at 6 p.m.

Activity is underway in the Dubois County area to determine a facility type, and access plan for the new highway. The Tier 2 Study will evaluate more site-specific impacts to determine the preferred location, and right-of-way needs for a 200-to-500-foot-wide facility within the 2,000-foot-wide study area.

The Mid-States Corridor Project examines an improved highway connection in southern Indiana. It generally runs parallel to US 231 from Interstate 64, passing east of Huntingburg and the Jasper area, and extends north to connect to Interstate 69. Section 2 is the only section currently being studied. The limits are from I-64 to just north of Haysville. A map of the study area is available here.

If unable to attend the meeting, members of the public are invited to attend office hours and speak with project team members, ask questions, and provide feedback at the project office located on the Jasper campus of Vincennes University at 850 College Ave., Jasper, IN 47546. Office hours are every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Call the project office at 812-482-3116 with questions or to schedule an appointment.

Maps, the meeting presentation and other project information will be available on the project website(midstatescorridor.com) following the meeting on September 26. Comments can also be submitted on the project website or at INDOT4U.
