On Tuesday evening, December 31st, Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy was working on US 231 near Jasper when she observed an SUV fail to use turn signals. A further check of the registration revealed the registered owner, Jesse Hedge was also a conditional driver. Trooper Denk-Mundy made a traffic stop on the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Jesse Hedge. Hedge showed visible signs of impairment. Since there were multiple people in the vehicle, Trooper Denk-Mundy called for other officers to assist. Trooper Andrew Recker arrived and transported Hedge to Jasper Memorial Hospital for a chemical test. Hedge was arrested and transported to the Dubois County jail where he is being held on bond.

OVWI (Prior) – Level 6 Felony

Violating a Condition of a Specialized Driving Privilege – Class A Misdemeanor

Arresting Officer – Trooper Kayla Denk-Mundy

Assisting Officers – Trooper Andrew Recker & Trooper Jon Villanueva

Assisting Agency – Dubois County Sheriff’s Office
