The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office expressed its gratitude to first responders and community members who assisted after severe storms impacted the northern part of the county over the weekend. Deputies worked around the clock, responding to numerous calls and waiting at locations until roads were cleared.

The sheriff’s office highlighted the efforts of local fire departments, the county highway department, emergency management agencies, utility crews, and dispatchers. Community members also provided meals to those working through the storm’s aftermath.

Officials emphasized that the response demonstrated the strong community spirit of Dubois County.

The National Weather Service confirmed eight tornadoes across Indiana during the storm system.

Cleanup efforts continue across the region as communities work to recover.
