The City of Loogootee Water Department will conduct water main flushing throughout the city from May 4 through May 9, 2025. The work will take place nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

During this time, residents may notice cloudy water or reduced water pressure. The department advises checking water quality before using it for drinking, cooking, or laundry.

Anyone experiencing water quality concerns is encouraged to call the water office at 812-295-2497 during business hours. After 4:00 p.m., customers should contact the Loogootee Police Department at 812-295-2246.

The Water Department also reminds drivers and pedestrians to use caution and watch for crews working near hydrants. The flushing process involves high-pressure water discharge, which can pose a safety hazard if approached too closely
