Jasper Arts’ 22nd annual Chalk Walk Arts Festival will soon have Squonk at the event to perform Brouhaha, an immersive outdoor spectacle bursting with rollicking music, dazzling imagery, and the thrill of audience participation.

At the center of this riotous romp is the Squonkcordion, an enormous musical instrument powered by behemoth bellows, topped with towering tuba bells. The peak of their performance has Squonk inviting the audience to play this foghorn organ, welcoming them to experience the joy of a brass band and the fireworks of community.

Squonk’s Brouhaha performance will take place at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM at the Chalk Walk.

The Jasper Arts 2025 Chalk Walk will be held at the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center (located at 100 3rd Avenue in Jasper) on Saturday, May 17th from 8 AM to 2 PM.

Festivities for the full event include:

  • Chalk Walk t-shirt tie-dyeing on the lawn of the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center where families may tie-dye their own Chalk Walk t-shirt and create their very own t-shirt work of art. T-shirts will be on sale at the registration tent for only $8 each.
  • Balloons by Aaron will be in the Atrium creating amazing works of art before your very eyes, FREE of charge, courtesy of Jasper Community Arts, for those who wish to take home a fun design created especially for you.
  • Rolando DeCastro will return indoors at the Black Box Theatre to draw caricatures of attendees, FREE of charge, courtesy of Jasper Community Arts.
  • An exciting bounce house, just for the little ones, will be awaiting screams of excitement and fun on the lawn.

  • And of course, CHALKING will be taking place on all the concrete surrounding the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center where kids and adults alike will contribute their works of art in chalk form on the sidewalks.
