Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) invites the public to attend a heartfelt dedication ceremony for the new Dr. Suresh Lohano Memorial Garden on Wednesday, June 11, at 4 p.m. The outdoor event will feature a blessing of the space and complimentary ice cream from Scoops—including Dr. Lohano’s favorite flavor, Mango Tango.

The garden’s creation has been a deeply personal and collaborative process. Dr. Lohano’s family has worked closely with DCH to coordinate the event and plans to attend the dedication, including his wife, Kavita, and children, Dushant and Sarisha.

Located near the Same Day Surgery side entrance near the hospital’s front entrance, the garden was designed to offer a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance, honoring the profound legacy of Dr. Lohano. The thoughtfully landscaped space features a paved area, picnic table, commemorative plaque, and floral plantings, providing a welcoming setting for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

The garden was made possible through a generous $40,000 grant from the Community Foundation, awarded through the TrueScripts Foundation Fund to the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation.

“This garden is more than a tribute—it’s a lasting reminder of the compassion, leadership, and commitment Dr. Lohano brought to our community,” said Jenna Bedwell, Chief Nursing Officer of Daviess Community Hospital. “We are incredibly grateful for the Community Foundation’s support in bringing this vision to life.”

The June 11 dedication is open to the public. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life and contributions of a physician whose impact will be felt for generations.
