The Spencer County Democratic Party will host its annual summer Fish Fry on Sunday, July 27 at the Spencer County Youth and Community Center in Chrisney. This year’s featured guest is District 77 State Representative Alex Burton of Evansville.
Sponsored by the Spencer County Democratic Central Committee, the event will include a menu of fish fillets, sliced ham, baked beans, potato salad, tomatoes, corn, desserts, and homemade ice cream. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. CDT, with carry-out meals available from 12 to 12:30 p.m. and dine-in service beginning at 12:30 p.m. A silent auction, half pot, and live auction for take-home goodies will follow.
Tickets are $20, free for students and children, and can be purchased online at bit.ly/fish-fry25 or by contacting Chairman Dan Wilkinson at (812) 660-9130. Tickets will also be available at the door.
State Rep. Alex Burton, elected in November 2024, serves on House committees including Family, Children, and Human Affairs; Judiciary; Natural Resources; and Utilities, Energy, and Telecommunications. Representing Evansville, Burton focuses on neighborhood revitalization, food access, youth development, and housing. He is a graduate of Indiana State University and Western Kentucky University and resides in Evansville with his wife, Dr. Xavia Burton, their son, and two dogs.
