Singer and songwriter Paul Thorn will take to the Jim & Pat Thyen Performance stage on Saturday, September 13 with special guest Daniel Market opening the evening of music at 8:00 PM.

Tickets are on sale now at www.AstraTheater.com.  Reserved seating tickets range from $30 for balcony seats, $35 for main level seating, and $40 for up front main level seating. Doors open at 7:00 PM.

Thorn has created an innovative and impressive career, pleasing crowds with his muscular brand of roots music – bluesy, rocking and thoroughly Southern American, yet also speaking universal truths. Among those who value originality, inspiration, eccentricity and character – as well as talent that hovers somewhere on the outskirts of genius, the story of Paul Thorn is already familiar. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, raised among the same spirits (and some of the actual people) who nurtured the young Elvis generations before, Paul Thorn has rambled down back roads and jumped out of airplanes, worked for years in a furniture factory, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Duran on national television, performed on stages with Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, Sting, and John Prine among many others, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet fully accessible music of our time. He’s also appeared on major television shows, received numerous National Public Radio features and charted multiple times on the Billboard Top 100 and Americana Radio Charts.

Paul’s latest album, “Life is Just A Vapor,” is comprised of words of advice, comfort, support, and encouragement, often meant to uplift, especially in times of struggle. Thorn says “every song on this album has a message in it of some sort about how to live life.”

American Blues Scene writer Don Wilcock calls Thorn “an everyman who addresses things we all think about, but few can articulate with the kind of candor, humor and folksy truth that immediately endear to almost everyone lucky enough to hear his music.”

In addition to sharing the evening with Paul Thorn, the Next Act, Inc. invites you to join them at The Astra for future 2025 events. These events will include comedian Steven Quezada on Saturday, October 4 and Nicholas Jamerson & The Morning Jays on Saturday, November 22.  All events have tickets available on our website at AstraTheater.com with more events to come.

The historic Astra Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Jasper, Indiana. Newly renovated with 357 seats, the Astra has main level and balcony seating with a concessions stand offering snacks and drinks that are available for purchase during the events.
