Oakland City University (OCU) will launch its third season of college football on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The Mighty Oaks will face the Bellarmine Knights at Wood Memorial High School, marking the debut of new Head Coach Scott Hurst.
The home opener will also feature a unique halftime performance from Rob McLeod, known worldwide as “Frisbee Rob,” and his champion canine, Sailor. The duo, who have performed for NFL teams, Canadian Football League clubs, and Division I programs, will bring their high-energy show to the tri-state for the first time.
Frisbee Rob and Sailor hold 13 Guinness World Records, 14 World Championships, and the Canadian Distance Record for Frisbee. Among their many highlights, the pair set the mark for the farthest flying disc throw caught by a dog and the farthest mini flying disc throw caught by a dog. In 2021, Sailor caught Rob’s 109-yard throw during a Calgary Stampeders game, a feat that earned them international recognition.
Sailor is also a two-time Quadruped Men’s Open Series champion, with his most recent title coming in 2025 after a 94-yard championship catch. Their performances have gone viral online, with videos viewed hundreds of millions of times.
Ahead of the big game, Rob and Sailor will lead a free community workshop on Friday, September 12, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at OCU’s Grassy Knoll. The program will encourage fitness, kindness, and healthy screen-time balance.
