Pike Central student Vivien Frasure was recognized by game officials at the South Spencer Sectional for her outstanding display of sportsmanship following the Chargers’ matchup against Wood Memorial.

After the final buzzer, before joining her teammates in celebration, Frasure took a moment to console players from the opposing team—an act that caught the attention of officials and fans alike.

Her gesture, highlighted by Pike Central Athletics, served as a reminder of the values that extend beyond the scoreboard.

It also reflects the spirit behind the Indiana High School Athletic Association’s “Face of Sportsmanship” initiative, which honors athletes, coaches, and fans who embody respect, integrity, and kindness in competition.

Pike Central officials expressed pride in Frasure’s actions, noting that her sportsmanship represents both her team and the school community with class and compassion.

Her example stands as a powerful reflection of what high school athletics aim to promote with character, empathy, and respect for the game and its players.
