Gary Paul Schepers, age 69, of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Gary was born in Jasper, Indiana, on June 16, 1956, to Bernard “Benny” and Josephine (Harpring) Schepers. He married Connie Nordhoff on August 25, 1979, and they recently celebrated 46 years of marriage.

He was a 1974 graduate of Dubois High School. Gary was the owner and operator of Gary Schepers Trucking since 1977 and primarily hauled for Kalmbach Feeds. He spent an additional five years with Tri State Live Haul during his semi-retirement.

He was a member of St. Isidore Parish – St. Celestine Catholic Church.

Gary enjoyed golfing with friends, hunting and working with his sons, training rabbit dogs, and fishing with family. He proudly served as “CEO of Papaw’s Daycare” and loved spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Schepers of Celestine; four children: Becky (Josh) Wallace of Martinsville, Ben (Kristy) Schepers of St. Anthony, Jessie (Amanda) Schepers of English, and Jamie (Kyle) Livingston of French Lick; and seven grandchildren: Calvin and June Schepers, Freddie, Forrest, and Naomi Livingston, and Reagan and Clayton Schepers.

He is also survived by five siblings: Donna (Erny) Betz, Linda (Tom) Partenheimer, Sharon (Roger) Donnerman, Debbie Schepers, and Randy (Kyla) Schepers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard “Benny” and Josephine Schepers; one brother, Edward “Eddie” Schepers; one sister, Shirley May Schepers; and his grandson, Theo Schepers.

A Memorial Mass for Gary Paul Schepers will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana.  There will be no burial at this time.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass time at the church on Tuesday.
