The City of Jasper and the Tri-County YMCA will officially break ground on the new Regional Wellness Center on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
The ceremony will take place at the future site of the facility at 900 West 15th Street in Jasper. Community members, regional partners, elected officials, and supporters are invited to attend and take part in the milestone event. Parking will be available at the Jasper Parklands and along 15th Street.
The Regional Wellness Center will be a modern facility spanning approximately 70,000 square feet, designed to serve residents throughout Dubois County and the surrounding eight-county region. The center will be owned by the City of Jasper and operated by the Tri-County YMCA.
Plans for the facility include a fitness center, gymnasiums, an indoor walking track, group exercise studios, community gathering areas, and a community kitchen.
City and YMCA leaders view the project as a long-term investment in the region, aimed at improving quality of life, supporting workforce attraction and retention, expanding childcare and youth programming opportunities, and promoting both physical and mental health.
Officials also emphasize the center’s role in strengthening regional connectivity and encouraging economic growth, with expectations that it will serve thousands of residents and commuters.
Remarks from city officials and YMCA leadership are scheduled as part of the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the start of construction on a project expected to benefit the community for generations.
