Marie Kuper, age 95 formerly of Jasper passed away at 3:25 p.m. Friday, (February 5, 2016), at the Little Sisters of the Poor – St. Augustine Home, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Marie KuperShe was born at Celestine, Indiana on December 30, 1920 to William and Rose (Prechtel) Teder.  She married Victor J. Kuper on May 7, 1946 in Celestine.  He preceded her in death on August 16, 1986.

Marie along with her late husband operated the Jasper Discount Furniture in Jasper.

She was a longtime resident of Jasper, Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she did a prayer hour and led rosaries for many years, a lector at Memorial Hospital chapel Mass, St. Ann’s Society, Daughters of Isabella, Legion of Mary Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Marie enjoyed golf, cards and gardening and travel.

Surviving,

One son, Gary Kuper and wife Brenda, Plainfield, IN.

Two daughters,

Pam Wright and husband Bob, Edwardsville, IL

Linda Kristoff and husband David, Carmel, IN

Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

One sister, Dorothy Weidenbenner and husband Bernie, Jasper, IN

Two brothers,

Edwin Teder and wife Julie, Cary, NC

Victor Teder and wife Nancy, Jasper.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one daughter, Kanda Kuper Haslem who died in 2004. Also by one sister, Lucille Luegers and two brothers, Lawrence and Linus Teder.

A mass of Christian burial for Marie Kuper will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, (February 13, 2016) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday, (February 12, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.  Rosary will be held at 2:45 p.m. Friday by the St. Ann’s Society and the D of I’s at the funeral home.
