Leonard R. Brinkman, 75, of Ferdinand, passed away Thursday, July 20th at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. Leonard was born June 28, 1942 in Ferdinand to Joseph and Augusta (Hackman) Brinkman. He married Rosie Schepers on June 26, 1965 in St. Celestine Catholic Church.

Leonard was retired from Jasper Engines and Transmissions where he worked as a Quality Control Engineer for 46 years. Leonard served in the National Guard.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing and genealogy. Leonard loved traveling to watch his grandchildren play sports.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Rosie of Ferdinand; two sons, Keith Brinkman of Newburgh and Ryan (Gretchen) Brinkman of Dubois; one daughter, Lori (Scott) Brosmer of Ferdinand; one brother, Wilfred Brinkman of Jasper; two sisters, Rose Hopf of Huntingburg and Irma (Danny) Borman of Ferdinand; ten grandchildren, Brea, Beau, Briley, Brage, Pierce, Preston and Parker Brinkman, Zachary, Isaac and Elijah Brosmer. Leonard was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Cletus and Francis Brinkman; one sister, Ann Marie Wagner and two grandsons, Blake and Brent Brinkman.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 AM in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct Military Rights. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00PM at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also Monday from 7-9:30 AM at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ferdinand Catholic Church or Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in Jasper.
