Martha A. (Myrt) Stallwood age 95 of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 27, 2017 in Hastings Minn.

She was born to Robert and Frances (Ruxer) Becher, of St. Meinrad, December 31, 1921.

She graduated from Dale High School and went on to further her education at business school in Indianapolis. While working for Allison Division of GM she met her life partner Leslie (Farnborough, UK) and they were married August 30, 1947. They both lived in Indianapolis until 2001 when they moved to Jasper. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2005. After Leslie’s passing she split time living in Hastings and Jasper, IN. Myrt was a life long member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Indianapolis and did extensive charity work on its behalf. Myrt was an avid golfer and all-around sports fan. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her sister Dorothy (Dottie) Brosmer, two sons, Geoff Stallwood (Shirley) of Jasper, George Stallwood (Patty) of Indianapolis, and one daughter Tracy Steiner (John) of Hastings MN, eight grand children, and nine great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two brothers Ralph (Tommy) and Gervase (Jerp) Becher and one sister Ann Krodel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
