Rita C. Schroering, age 68 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN.

Rita was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on October 20, 1949 to Robert and Alice (Verkamp) Theising. She married Tom Schroering on June 19, 1971 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, IN.

She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Tom Schroering Construction.

Rita was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and their Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Celestine Community Club.

She enjoyed sewing and quilting, scrapbooking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Tom Schroering of Jasper, three daughters, Carla Fuhrman (Todd), Hutto, TX, Christine Sander (Chris), Celestine, Audrey Weisheit (Kevin) Haysville, two sons, Jared Schroering (Kellie), St. Anthony, Blake Schroering (Jillian), Celestine, nine grandchildren, five sisters, Linda Reuber (Paul), Celestine, Mary Theising, Georgetown, IN, Ruth Fritch (Sid), Jasper, Jane Hoffman (Charlie), Jasper, Laura Theising, Georgetown, IN, three brothers, John Theising (Mary Jo), Birdseye, Mark Theising (Jeanette), Schnellville, Daniel Theising (Janice) Dubois, IN.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Ronnie Theising and one sister-in-law, Ruby Theising.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita C. Schroering will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN. The Holy Family Blessed Virgin Sodality will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m.
