Vera Marie Peach, age 83, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:50 p.m., on Thursday, October 19, 2017, at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg.

She was born November 27, 1933, on the family farm near Huntingburg to Enoch E. and Hilda (Feldmeyer) Brunsman. Vera attended school in Holland and graduated from Holland High School. She was united in marriage to Richard H. Peach on October 26, 1952, at Salem Church in Huntingburg. Vera worked for the local telephone company from 1958 until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She was a faithful member of Salem United Church of Christ where she was a member of the church choir for 50 years, bell choir, Women’s Guild, and served as Sunday school secretary for many years. Vera loved sewing, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, jig saw puzzles, playing cards and following Indiana University basketball, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and the W.N.B.A. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Peach, who passed away October 13, 1995; and her brother, Robert E. “Bob” Brunsman, who passed away June 25, 2011.

Vera is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Ann Brunsman of Huntingburg; one niece, Denise (Greg) Gentry of Huntingburg; one nephew, Donovan Brunsman of Huntingburg; two great nieces and one great nephew, Courtney (Chad) Gentry Jacob of Schnellville, Molly Brunsman of Huntingburg, Derek Brunsman of Huntingburg; and one great-great niece, Charlee Jacob.

Funeral services for Vera Marie Peach will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, October 23, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Pastor Mark West will officiate at the service.
