Donna Sue (Waters) (Helmerich) Mason, age 77, beloved mother, wife and friend, passed from this world on November 21, 2017, in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

She was born on June 12, 1940, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Garneta Helmerich (and Charles Helmerich) and Charles Waters (and Thelma).  She attended Huntingburg High School (Class of 1958); was a 30 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; and was a member of the Daughters of 1812 and the Daughters of the Union, in which she held numerous National and State offices.  Donna lived in Columbus, Indiana for 15 years and Lexington, Kentucky for 8 years, before spending the past 30 years living outside Hawesville, Kentucky.  She had lived in Land O’Lakes, Florida for the past 6 months.  Donna loved genealogy, history, Indiana Hoosiers sports, the Indianapolis Colts, traveling the country, and most of all family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter James “Jim” Mason, Jr. of Land O’Lakes, Florida; one daughter, Karen Mason of Land O’Lakes, Florida; one son, Randy Mason of Franklin, Indiana; brother, Mark Helmerich of Valparaiso, Indiana; sister, Melody Elam of Clyde, California; as well as many other loving cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Donna Sue Mason will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.  The Reverend Lee Campbell will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday.  The Warrick County Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will conduct a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Funeral Home.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
