A Huntingburg man found passed out in his vehicle in front of a north side Huntingburg business Monday night was placed under arrest on alcohol and drug related charges.

Just after 11 o’clock last night Huntingburg Police were called to the parking lot of a business located along the 1700 block of North Main Street in reference to a suspicious vehicle that was parked on the north side of the store, running with its headlights on.

Officers made contact with the driver, 23-year old Zachary Reller of Huntingburg who police say was passed out in the driver’s seat with the vehicle in gear and his foot on the brake.

Officers say they could smell the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. They were able to wake Reller and say once he exited the vehicle he appeared to be under the influence.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Officers had Reller perform a field sobriety test which they say he failed. He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for a blood draw which police say tested positive for THC.

Reller is facing charges of Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia.

He was lodged in the Dubois County Security Center.
