Bavarian specialty foods and an array of christmas wares, antiques, quality hand-crafted and primitives await the public at Ferdinand’s 18th annual Chriskindlmarkt this Saturday and Sunday November 21st and 22nd.

Opening ceremonies took place this past Friday with the appearance of the Chriskindl or Christmas Angel on the west side lawn of the Monestary of Immaculate Conception.

Chriskindlmarkts began in 14th century Germany and continue today. Ferdinand’s Chriskindlmarkt is one of the most authentic in the United States, recently voted one of the Top 100 events in the nation by the American Business Association. Markt sites are located indoors throughout town.  Parking is free as is the optional shuttle service between Markt sites, admission and entertainment.

The seven Markt locations include the Ferdinand Community Center, The Tri-County YMCA Antiques Markt, Forest Park High School, the Ferdinand American Legion, Ferdinand Elementary School, the St. Ferdinand Spiritual Life Center, and the Monestary Event Center.    

All markt sites will be open from 9 am till 5 pm Saturday and from 10 am till 4 pm Sunday.  There is no admission charge.  Forest Park High School will serve as the hub locations for the free shuttle service.
