Congratulations goes out to the Forest Park Marching Rangers as the Rangers captured yet another Indiana State School Music Association Class D state championship Saturday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.

Saturday’s title was the fourth straight for the Marching Rangers under the direction of Chad Gayso who finished just ahead of the second place Springs Valley Blackhawks. South Spencer was third.  The Marching Rebels finished fourth last year and grabbed third this year. Tell City came in tenth. This was the first time the Marching Marksmen had been to the finals since 2006.   

Meanwhile Jim Goodhue’s Marching Wildcats of Jasper High School looking for the school’s first state title since 2012 took part in Class B competition, placing fourth.

Greenwood grabbed second while Northview High School finished just ahead of Jasper at third.   

The top ten scoring bands from Open Class Enrollment Categories A, B and D, and due to a tie, the top eleven scoring bands from Open

Enrollment Category C from the previous week’s Semi-State competed for ranking order and the title of State Champion for their respective Open Class Category.

Once again congratulations to the Forest Park Marching Rangers on picking up a fourth straight state marching band championship as well as the Jasper Marching Wildcats on their strong 4th place finish Saturday at Lucas Oil  Stadium in Indianapolis.
