Officials with the Dubois County Health Department say a mold remediation project got underway yesterday at the health department’s offices along South St. Charles Street in Jasper after mold was recently discovered behind the vinyl wallpaper on the building’s exterior walls.

Administrative Director Donna Oeding says indoor air quality sampling was conducted by the Indiana State Department of Health which found no elevated levels of mold in the air.

PuroClean of Southern Indiana was the lead contractor for the remediation.  Jasper Lumber and Messmer Mechanical of Jasper are also taking part in the process. Indoor air sampling will be conducted during the remediation to insure the safety of visitors from the public and staff.

Oeding says while the remediation is taking place, all services will continue and apologize for any inconvenience that may be caused at this time.

They ask anyone planning to visit the office, please pay attention to signage indicating where to park and the entrance location.
