Dorothy Jean Hamilton, age 81, of Marana, Arizona, formerly of Augusta, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at her residence in Arizona.

hamilton photo_edited-1She was born April 18, 1934 in Velpen, Indiana, to Hollis H. and Imogene (Sims) Carlisle.  She married Billie R. “Bill” Hamilton on May 21, 1952, in Buckskin, Indiana.  Mrs. Hamilton was a retired school bus driver.  She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal and the Winslow Chapter #391 of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie R. “Bill” Hamilton, who died August 19, 2014.

She is survived by:

Three daughters,

Marilyn (Rick) Houser of Bellevue, Washington,

Gail (Jim) Rabe of Tacoma, Washington,

Mary (Merle) Deal of Winfield, Kansas;

Two sons,

Steven Hamilton of Marana, Arizona,

William (Jennifer) Hamilton of Bonney Lake, Washington;

One brother,

Clifford (Joann) Carlisle of Moriarty, New Mexico;

by (8) grandchildren, (5) step grandchildren and (12) great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Dorothy Jean Hamilton will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the Augusta Cemetery in Augusta, Indiana.   Pastor Ed Wicks will officiate at the committal service.  The Winslow Chapter #391 of the Order of the Eastern Star will conduct memorial rites at the cemetery.
