A new survey is being circulated throughout Spencer County and county residents are being encouraged to provide thoughts and ideas.

The survey conducted by Spencer County’s Hometown Collaboration Initiative Team is designed to help discover where the greatest opportunities are around the area. Areas being addressed in the survey include the economy, leadership and quality of place.

Last December county officials learned the area is among four in the state selected to participate in the program.

It’s designed for “self-identified communities of 25,000 or fewer people who want to develop a new generation of local leaders; promote the launch, survival and growth of small businesses and entrepreneurs; or enhance the natural and physical assets of their hometowns.

To help the HCI team, community members are encouraged to complete a survey at www.indianahci.org/spencer.

A community forum is scheduled for 5:30 pm CDT Thursday, April 7, at the Chrisney Community Center.

During that forum, results of the survey will be shared and those in attendance will be able to prioritize the critical issues.
