During the month of April, the Dubois County Humane Society will offer no-cost spay and neuter surgeries, plus free rabies vaccinations as part of “Community Cat,” the PetSmart Charities’ spay & neuter campaign to alter free-roaming felines.

The humane society says if left unaltered, unowned feral and stray cats produce large quantities of unwanted kittens each spring, flooding local animal shelters. By taking a proactive approach and getting the cats fixed now, the humane society helps lessen the impact of the coming kitten season.

This special free rate is available to all residents of Dubois County. Sign up is required in advance at the humane society in order to reserve your spot.

Hours are Mondays 11 am till 1 pm and 6 till 8 pm. Tuesdays 1 till 5 pm; Wednesdays 4:30 till 6:30 pm; Thursdays 11 am till 1 pm and Saturdays 11 am till 3 pm.
