Norbert A. Kern, age 81, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 8:40 a.m. on Thursday (September 15, 2016) at home.

norbert-kernNorbert was born in Dale Indiana on January 26, 1935, to Aloysius and Frances (Titzer) Kern.
He married Rosetta Vogler on June 20, 1960 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2002.

Norbert was a farmer in the Schnellville community and a retired truck driver.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the St. Anthony American Legion Post #493.

He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a member of the Schnellville Conservation Club.

He was a past amateur pilot and enjoyed flying, he also enjoyed reading and working on the farm.

Jerry Kern and wife Ann, Schnellville, IN.

Preceding him in death besides his wife was one grandson – Robert Kern, one sister – Mary Hulsman, and three brothers – Albert, Harold, and Thomas Kern.

Funeral services for Norbert A. Kern will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (September 17, 2016) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 will conduct military gravesite rites.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time on Saturday (September 17, 2016) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, IN.
