Authorities have made an arrest and charged a man with murder in connection with another man’s death in Crawford County. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Department says 24-year old Steven Broughton was arrested Saturday after they and an ambulance responded to the 100 block of Church Street in Milltown, after a 911 call was received Saturday night by the Crawford County Dispatch Center.

Authorities say the caller, later identified as Broughton, stated that a victim, 41-year-old Larry McDonnell Jr., had been hit in the head with a baseball bat.Officers with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department arrived and found Broughton located in the front bedroom of a residence. Authorities say Broughton was arrested without incident. Police say McDonnell was found in an adjacent room dead from blunt force trauma to the head.Investigators say domestic violence and verbal abuse appear to have been contributing factors in the incident. Police say there is no record of officers having been sent to the home in the past.

Broughton is currently being held in the Crawford County Jail.
