The Dubois County Clerk’s Office says that at the close of business Wednesday afternoon, 1536 people had taken part in early voting in the county, an impressive rate of 5 percent of the county’s registered voters.

The 2016 General election is set for Tuesday November 8th.

Early ballots were able to be cast just over a week ago and will continue up to and through Friday, November 4th at the at the Dubois County Courthouse from 8 am till 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and from 8 am till 6 pm on Wednesdays.

Dubois County Clerk Bridgette Jarboe says folks may also vote on the the third floor of the courthouse from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays beginning October 29th and Saturday November 5th, and from 8 am till noon on Monday November 7th. Early voting will NOT take place this Saturday October the 22nd.

Also an absentee voting site will be located at the northside Jasper fire station located along 35th Street between10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday, October 31st through Friday November the 4th and between 8 a.m. and noon on Saturday October the 29th and Saturday November 5th.

Absentee voting is also available at the Huntingburg Event Center, the Ferdinand Community Center and the Dubois Library between 8 am and noon on Saturday October 29th and Saturday, November 5th.
