An established Hoosier company, FireKing Security Group, will bring 50 new jobs by 2020 to Southern Indiana. The security and loss protection company announced plans to expand its operations with the construction of a new 75,000 square-foot distribution facility. The facility will be constructed at the newly opened 40- acre Grantline Industrial Park West in New Albany.

FireKing Security Group was established in 1951 as a manufacturer of fireproof filing cabinets.The business has evolved over the past 65 years to now include a wide range of products and services which include; vital records protection, secure cash handling services and digital video surveillance. FireKing does business worldwide within 85 countries. It has facilities across Indiana, Illinois and California and employees more than 300 Hoosiers. The company will invest more than $4 million in the proposed project and received performance-based incentives that state Hoosiers must be hired for the company to be eligible to claim offered tax credit incentives.

Indiana businesses have added 156,800 new state jobs since 2013 and displays an unemployment rate below the national average with the rate falling last month to 4.5 percent.
