Officials with the Jasper Municipal Water Department say they will soon be releasing water from Beaver Lake by opening a valve at the lake Thursday to bring it down to winter pool levels.

The valve opening gives residents and renters at Beaver Lake a chance to perform maintenance work on their docks. There will be no need to boil water before use and nearby property owners need not have concerns about flooding.
