Bernadette A. “Daisey” Lueken, 84, of Ferdinand, passed away, Sunday, November 20th at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

daisyluekenBernadette was born February 7, 1932 to Leonard and Clara (Zoglman) Sitzman in St. Meinrad. She married James F. Lueken on May 6, 1954 in St. Meinrad Archabbey Church.

Bernadette was a retired factory worker for General Electric. Bernadette also worked for Dubois-Pike Bookmobile. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish, St. Anns Sodality, Ferdinand D of I and assisted with the St. Ferdinand Bereavement Lunch Team.

Bernadette is survived by her husband, James Lueken of Ferdinand; one son, Jonathan Lueken of Ferdinand; one daughter, Kristine (Brian) Braunecker of Ferdinand; one sister, Mrs. Henry Lee (Mildred) Holtzman of Fulda; three grandsons, Benjamin and Noah Braunecker, Zachary Lueken; nieces and nephews. Bernadette was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Sitzman and a sister, Alberta “Bert” Roos.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 8:00 AM until time of services.
