Mildred Hagedorn Leggett, 95, of Santa Claus, passed away, Friday, November 18th at Willowdale Village in Dale. She was born on September 28, 1921 to Oscar and Maria Mathilda (Werne) Vaal. Mildred married Ervin Hagedorn on October 12, 1940 in St. Meinrad. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1976. She married Robert (Bob) Leggett on April 25, 2003.

mildred-leggett-picMildred was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Santa Claus. Mildred enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing with family and friends. She especially enjoyed having her children and grandchildren gathered around her.

Mildred is survived by her husband Bob Leggett of Santa Claus; nine daughters, Linda (Jan) Braun, Lula (Gene) Michel, Brenda (Pat) Arnold, Ruthie (Rike) Winchell and Rita (Jim) Voges all of Santa Claus, Janice (Michael) Flannigan of Jasper, Connie (Charlie) Schmitt of Grayson, GA., Gail (Jim) Kippenbrock of Carmel, IN., Laura Janay of Orlando, FL.; three sons, Donald (Marietta) Hagedorn of Waverly, KY., Ralph (Judy) Hagedorn of Morganfield, KY., Paul Hagedorn of Dale; one step-son, Mark (Sue) Leggett of Ballston Lake, NY; one step-daughter, Barbara (John) Burst of Bradenton FL.; one brother, Edgar Vaal and a sister, Irene Wendholt both of Ferdinand; thirty eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seventy seven great-grandchildren and ten great-step-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Hagedorn; two brothers, Eugene and Alvin Vaal.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CDT Wednesday at St. Nicholas Church in Santa Claus with burial to follow in Saint Meinrad Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7:00 PM CDT at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and Wednesday from 8:00 AM CDT until time of services at the church.

All visitation and services are private to relatives only. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
