A Martin County man was killed in a one vehicle car crash in Daviess County late Thusrday morning.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says the accident took place just before noon on County Road 700S just west of County Road 1125 East.

Deputies say when emergency responders arrived on the scene they found a Ford pickup truck that had been driven by 48-year-old Joni Yoder of Loogootee crashed into a cement bridge railing.

Police say Yoder was trapped inside his truck when it caught fire. Deputies believe Yoder failer to apply his brakes prior to the crash.

Yoder was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
