The Jasper Police made another arrest on Friday related to an incident that occurred this week on Thursday, Dec.15 when a Huntingburg woman was placed under arrest for charges of neglect of a dependent. Thursday, police were informed by a caller that he saw two individuals exit a vehicle and walk through several backyards.

When police arrived they found the vehicle with an infant inside unattended. Police say the vehicle was not running during very cold conditions. Authorities secured the young child in a police cruiser for his safety.

While searching for the vehicle’s owner, officers located two subjects that fled on foot upon the officer’s request to stop. One of the subjects, 18-year old Justice Mundy of Huntingburg was shortly apprehended.

The second person was identified as 22-year old Austin Elliot. An arrest warrant was issued the same day.

Elliot was located in Huntingburg by Huntingburg P.D and taken into custody were the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department took custody of the subject and transported him to the Dubois County Security Center.

Elliot is being charged with a Class A Misdemeanor of Resisting Law Enforcement and a Level 6 Felony of Neglect of a Dependent.
