Francine M. Verkamp, age 50, of Schnellville, Indiana, passed away at 2:58 a.m. on Friday (February 10, 2017) at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Francine was born in Jasper, Indiana on January 19, 1967, to Charles and Rita (Vaeth) Young. She married David C. Verkamp on September 26, 1987 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2016.

Francine was a 1985 graduate of Dubois High School.

She was a homemaker and member of Divine Mercy Parish – Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are four sons, Jacob Verkamp (Blakney), Celestine, IN, Craig Verkamp, and fiance, Tiffany Parks, Schnellville, IN, and Keith and Travis Verkamp, of Schnellville, IN, three sisters, Diane Gramelspacher (Tim), Jasper, IN, Carla Dittelberger (Mark), Ireland, IN and Anita Seger (Dave), Jasper, IN, four brothers, Charlie “Chuck” Young, Celestine, IN, Jerry Young, Ireland, IN, Mark Young (Barb), Jasper, IN, and Alan Young (Marilee), Ireland, IN.

Preceding her in death are her husband and her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Francine M. Verkamp will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
