Lucille M. Hochgesang, age 98, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana.

Lucille was born in Celestine, Indiana, on July 14, 1918, to August and Theresia (Prechtel) Betz. She married Raymond W. Hochgesang on May 17, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Celestine, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2004.

Lucille was a homemaker and worked at Masterbrand Cabinets for over 10 years.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, the St. Anthony Community Center, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

She enjoyed crocheting, baking, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna Boehm (Tom), St. Anthony, IN, and Susan Reckelhoff (Dave), St. Anthony, IN, three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are two sisters, Clara Mae Borgmann and Selma Hackman and three brothers, Ray and Leo Betz, and Othmar Betz, who died in infancy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Divine Mercy Parish, the St. Anthony Fire Department or to a favorite charity.
