In an accident involving an ATV in Spencer County a man had to be air lifted from the scene.

Around 6 pm last night Indiana Conservation Officers responded to a 911 call that reported a man had been ejected from an ATV. Residents near the accident called 911 and performed CPR until EMS arrived.

56 year old Mark Horn of Chrisney was operating an ATV on County Road 200 E, just south of the State Road 70 intersection when the ATV left the roadway for an unknown reason, causing him to be ejected. The ATV came back onto the roadway and rolled onto its side.

Horn had to be life-flighted after the ATV crash and was last reported to have been in serious but stable condition.

At the time of the accident Horn was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor. The accident remains under investigation.

Responding agencies included Spencer County EMS, Chrisney Fire Department, Grand View Fire Department, Spencer County Sheriff’s Department, St. Mary’s Life-flight and Indiana Conservation Officers.
