Olive I. Whitten, age 99, formerly of Dale, passed away at 6:17 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Hamilton Pointe Health and Rehab in Newburgh.

She was born November 17, 1917 in Huntingburg to William Hamilton and Merona Ellen (Songer) Cato; and was united in marriage on March 12, 1937 to Ronald Whitten. She was a homemaker that enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; siblings, Clara Christopher, Roy Cato, Laura Rohleder, Mildred Emmons and Pearl Singer.

Olive is survived by five children, Barbara Whitten of Haysville, Rita Bell of Evansville, Karen (Don) Curtis of LaVaca, Arkansas, Terry (Carolyn) Whitten of Huntingburg, Tonda (Kevin) Fehribach of Holland; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
