Larry Bucshon, the Republican US Representative for Indiana’s 8th congressional district, stopped by the Jasper Lofts yesterday as he completed a tour of Dubois county with a stop in Huntingburg, earlier in the day, to tour the Hunters Crossing project.
Mayor Terry Seitz provided Representative Bucshon a personal tour of the Jasper Lofts site, which is still under construction. When finished the new apartment complex will feature 67, 1 to 4 bedroom units at less than market rental rates, based on income.
Buschon expressed the importance of the affordable housing in Dubois County especially when it comes to helping obtain grants for these types of projects…
With a population of 42,000 Dubois county boast a labor force of over half the population
and employing half of the workforce here locally is the Manufacturing industry. The Jasper
Lofts will be able to provide housing to potential and current workforce individuals that
face long commutes.
The Japser Lofts anticipated completetion date is sometime this summer with applications
