James W. Weigel, age 89, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

James was born on July 11, 1927, in Boone Township, Indiana to Jacob and Edna (Huebner) Weigel. He was united in marriage to Colleen Frick on February 16, 1957, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township. James was a truck driver for 35+ years for Jasper- Chicago Clairmont Transfer. He also owned and operated Country Corner Antiques. James was a member of Salem UCC in Huntingburg, Huntingburg Kiwanis, VFW Post #2366, and a Hadi Shriner for Masonic Lodge #520 A&FM. He was preceded in death by his son, Bill Weigel, and siblings, Edward Weigel and Marie Saffer.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen Weigel; two sons, Rodney (Doris) Weigel of Huntingburg and Kent (Suzanne) Weigel of Newburgh; daughter-in law, Jeanette Weigel (Mark) Theising of Schnellville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for James W. Weigel will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Mark West will officiate the services. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post #2366 Memorial Detail. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis or Salem Choir & Organ Fund.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday. The Huntingburg Masonic Lodge will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., E.D.T. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com.
