Richard Montgomery, age 61, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at his daughter’s residence.
Richard was born January 20, 1956, in Oakland City, Indiana, to Paul and Audrey (Uppencamp) Montgomery. He worked in the oil fields until he became disabled. He was a fan of IU basketball and enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Heather Montgomery; and brothers, Larry, Gary and Tom Montgomery
He is survived by his sons, Dustin, Justin (Whitney), Jonathan (Sarah) , Willie, and Jarvan Montgomery; daughters, Brandee (Robert) Swaney, Brittiany (Jeramie) Hasenour, Jessica and Janessa Montgomery; siblings, Gene (Martha) and Ron Montgomery, Sue Uppencamp, Kathy (Sonny) Hartley, Peggy Laymon and Pam (Aaron) Blanford; nine grandchildren .
A funeral service for Richard Montgomery will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Vincent Christian Church, in Otwell. Visitation will be held from 12-2:00 p.m., E.D.T., at the church the day of the service. Paul Newland will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
