The Dubois County Sheriffs Department is attempting to locate a wanted person.

The department says 38-year old Christopher Jones of Dubois is currently wanted on a warrant issued out of Dubois Circuit Court for Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, a level 4 felony.

Jones is described as being 5’6″ tall and 130 lbs and has numerous tattoos on his arms.

A multi-agency team of officers went to Jones’s address at 9901 North Hickory Grove in Dubois on Wednesday but authorities say he fled into a heavily wooded area as officers were approaching the residence.

A K-9 was deployed, but lost the track after about one mile into the woods.

They say additional charges are pending for Resisting Law Enforcement.
