The Jasper Miss Strassenfest Contest will be held Saturday, July 29 at 7 pm in conjunction with the Jr. Miss and the Little Miss and Little Mister Strassenfest pageants at Redemption Christian Church located at 1450 Energy Drive. This venue will hold over 1,000 seats for the public to attend. Tickets will be available at the door for $5.

 

The year, ten contestants will be vying for the title of Miss Strassenfest.

 

Scholarships will be awarded to the Miss Strassenfest and 1st runner-up in the amounts of $1,000 and $500, respectively. A second runner-up, Miss Congeniality, and Miss Photogenic will also be awarded.

 

The ten contestants include:

Chloe Berger is the daughter of Tim and Dana Berger. She is majoring in elementary education at the University of Southern Indiana. She volunteered with the City of Jasper, Camp Care for her community service project.

Kelsey Graman is the daughter of Wes and Leslie Graman. She attends Indiana State University majoring in Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising. For her community service project she volunteered at the CHEW (Child Hunger Ending Workshop).

Madelyn Keller is the daughter of Alan and Sheri Keller. She attends Bellarmine University where she is majoring in Nursing. For her community service project she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society – Northwood Retirement Community with the hospice patients.

Nicole Kress is the daughter of Nicholas and Jill Mehringer-Kress. She attends Western Kentucky University majoring in broadcasting. For her community service project she volunteered at the Cathedral Nursing Home.

Kathleen Messmer is the daughter of Roger and Mary Jo Messmer. She is majoring in Mass Communication/Film and Video at Purdue University. She volunteered her time organizing and painting a mural on the side of Fit Together Group Fitness and Jasper Baseball Academy for her community service project.

Priscilla Olson is the daughter of Richard and Lauri Olson. She attends the University of Alabama majoring in Apparel Design. For her community service project she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society – Northwood Retirement Community.

Melanie Patterson is the daughter of Darren and Dr. Ann Patterson. She is a senior at Jasper High School. She made blankets for the pediatric floor for Memorial Hospital for her community service project.

Hannah Rydberg is the daughter of Bryan and Janet Rydberg. She attends the University of Western Michigan majoring in Film and Marketing. She volunteered at the Dubois County Humane Society for her community Service project.

Kara Skorge is the daughter of Eric and Karen Skorge. She attends Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where she is majoring in Biochemistry. For her community service project she performed music therapy with St. Charles Health Campus.

Hanna Werner is the daughter of Jeremy and Hillory Werner. She attends Hanover College majoring in chemistry. She made blankets for the pediatric floor for Memorial Hospital for her community service project.
