The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help as they look to locate a vehicle that apparently lost a spare tire that deputies say struck a parked semi in a parking lot near the Bretzville Junction Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say around 2 pm yesterday, a white pickup truck they say had been travelling either northbound on State Road 162 or eastbound on State Road 64 at or near the junction had lost a spare tire from underneth the truck.

Deputies say the loose tire then continued east and into the parking lot of Commercial Truck Sales where they say the tire struck a parked semi truck.

They say the tire hit the semi causing significant damage to the front fender on the passenger side.

Deputies say a witness who saw the truck lose the tire described the vehicle as psossibly being a Ford Truck that was white in color.
