“Celebrating tradition and building our future” is the theme chosen for the 39th annual Jasper Strassenfest set to officially kick off tonight on and around the Jasper Downtown square.
The first major event took place last Saturday as Kara Skorge was crowned as this year’s Miss Strassenfest at Redemption Christian Church.
Booths and carnival rides will open on the Courthouse Square tonight beginning at 5 pm.
At 5:30 the Children’s Box Parade will begin in front of the Jasper Police Department. Registration begins at 4:45 pm.
At 6:15 pm the opening ceremonies will take place on the main stage in the northeast corner of the square near city hall with the Burgermeister Proclamation by Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz.
The fest will wrap up on Sunday with the annual Strassenfest parade downtown at 1 pm and finally the fireworks show near Jerry Brewer Alumni Stadium beginning at 10 pm.
In the meantime, many, many, many, events and entertainment are scheduled around the Jasper community way too numerous to list here.

This year’s host and hostess is Steve and Barb Schmitt while Ron Flick will serve as the Hoffmarschall, or Grand Marshall, for the 39th annual Strassenfest.
The Stassenfest Committee welcomes residents and guests to participate in the many events and enjoy the awesome entertainment that has made the Jasper Strassenfest the fun-filled celebration that is anticipated each year.
