A sports utility vehicle that was reported as stolen Monday morning in a Jasper neighborhood has been found.

Monday afternoon the Jasper Police Department requested the public’s help as they attempted to locate a vehicle they say was stolen from the area of 7th and Anderson Streets Monday morning.

Police say a black 1999 GMC Jimmy was taken from that location sometime between 7 and 9 am.

This morning police reported that the SUV was located in a neighboring county unoccupied and that no arrests have been made at this time.

Still, anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact the Jasper Police Department at 812-482-2255.

Also police continue to reminder the public to be sure to remove the keys of your unattended vehicle and lock the doors of any vehicle when it is parked.
